South America Bound

It’s been a while since I’ve posted on this blog, but no time like now I guess.

This week I’m excited to be heading to South America and the Amazon with family. I’ll be posting pictures here and on Instagram for those that care to follow.

I’m packed and ready!

Niños de Baja 2021

We are starting to plan this summers trip! We leave July 1st and I’m already hearing from lots of people that they are wanting to go. There is nothing better than going to Mexico to do Gods work and being with some of the best people ever. Then to top it off you get to spend time with the children at Niños de Baja! So blessed!!

Summer of 2020

What a summer! Covid-19 became a thing in the Spring of this year and changed the world. Sadly.

Our Niños de Baja mission trip was cancelled in July after months of preparations. That was a huge let down for not only our team, but all the subsequent teams that followed. There have not been visiting teams all year. The only saving grace was the fact that we are now starting to prepare for next year.

I personally miss the children and the fellowship time with our Pikes Peak Christian Church team. We went from lots of planned time together to isolating from everyone. Very strange times we live in.

Our shirts proudly shares the hashtag #GodsQuaranTeam this year. We certainly will appreciate nexts year trip.

Spring Break!

Getting closer to summer and the 2019 Mexico Mission Trip. This year will be very different. Looks like we will be taking more teens and my co-team leader will not be going.

I really like this message. Some people have a hard time getting out of their comfort zone and just can’t hear God when he speaks. I’ve been there and there are still days I struggle to listen,

33 more days!! 😳

Hard to believe that the school year is coming to a close and our mission trip to Nino's de Baja is right around the corner. Where has the time gone? This weekend we have a big meeting where full payment is due for me and my sponsored students. I'm still a little bit short, but I'm confident I'll make the $1800.00 total very soon.

Getting Closer!

Can you tell I'm just a bit excited to start heading down to Mexico on the mission trip? I love the regular team members that go and I'm super excited for our new members that have not gone before.

Working hard... Raising money!

Julian and Brenden working hard to earn money towards the Nino's de Baja Mexico Missions trip. We are all getting excited with just about 70 days until we leave!!

Spring Break!

Busy week, but still trying to relax. The weather this week in Colorado Springs is not helping.

Wanted to get out and earn some money with Julian and Brenden by finishing up some landscaping. Didn't get to do that. I want to make sure these guys earn Mission Trip money, but it's been difficult. I'm just not very good about asking people for help.

I'm so use to helping others and never asking for anything in return. I like that quality. It's just hard for me to ask others when I need help. Oh well, this trip is for God and his children, so I leave it in his hands. I'll be listening to him for guidance.

Nino's de Baja Website

Had some friends asking about the Nino's de Baja Christian-outreach ministry in El Porvenir, Mexico, so here is their web address.

You can learn about the children's homes, how you can help and subscribe to their newsletter.

Only 93 Days!

Getting really excited about this years trip to Ninos de Baja orphanage. The team is starting to come together and I'm really liking what I see. My good friends Trish, Raymond, Elmina and Jennifer are going. As well as Tom and Becky and their kids. Lots of new people this year too. It's exciting when we have new team members that have never gone on a mission trip join us. This year I'm sponsoring and chaperoning Julian and Brendan.

Brendan is currently a sixth grader and Julian is in ninth grade. Both of them are amazing young men that will certainly have a great experience. I'm very blessed to have an opportunity to introduce young people into mission service. I'll be posting pictures here of the team as we start to prepare for the June 22nd departure.
